MSM - CNBC pandemic market advice

Just now on CNBC's 'Squawk Box', Haines interviewed David Kotok of Cumberland advisors. Kotok says that bird flu should be watched and monitored by investors every day for H2H transmission, ie. clusters. It could happen today or never. If it does, he expects oil to go to $30 a barrel. He says to reverse all strategies, ie. "batten down the hatches" for a WW recession / depression. Gold wasn't mentioned but he did say something like 'safe instruments of the highest quality'.

Re: MSM - CNBC pandemic market advice

My view is that oil for immediate delivery may not fall that much particularly if the contracts delivery is close to users if where is capacity to stockpile. The futures contracts further out will be hit hard. Oil companies will be hit very hard.

Copper, Aluminium, tin, nickel as base commodities could be hit very hard indeed.

WW "abrupt" moves in markets could happen. Vol will be huge
