Student dies of flu; school closes (no audio)

A Delta school shut down Friday as a precaution after a student died of the flu. Washington School in Greenville is closed until Feb. 24. School officials said seventh-grader Cheyenne Hicks died of flu and flu pneumonia. Cheyenne was the daughter of Jimmy and Jarae Hicks. Jimmy Hicks is middle school physical education instructor, and he coaches football and basketball.

Acting on the recommendation of an infectious disease specialist, the school dismissed students at 11 a.m. Friday and will reopen on Wednesday...
