Morocco Confirms 1,191 New COVID-19 Cases, 30 Deaths in 24 Hours

Rabat – Morocco’s Ministry of Health confirmed 1,191 more COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases Morocco has recorded to 62,590.

Morocco also recorded an additional 1,240 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the count to 47,595, with a recovery rate of 76%.

The ministry also recorded 30 more fatalities in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths stands at 1,141. The mortality rate is 1.8%.

The health authorities continue to strengthen the city's bedding capacity, in particular through the construction of day hospitals. In addition to the 2 structures recently inaugurated at the Hay Mohammedi and Sidi Othmane hospitals (40 places each), the My Youssef hospital is also strengthening its capacities. A 2nd marquee, with a capacity of 50 places (in addition to the 40 existing ones), is being built in its enclosure.

These day hospitals follow Covid cases as soon as they are detected. They then refer patients according to the severity of their case to home or hospital follow-up. Patients are now dispatched outside Casablanca for lack of capacity. Each arrondissement operates differently.

For example, patients coming under Sidi Othmane / My Rchid are sent into confinement in El Jadida or Benslimane. At Derb Sultan, the health authorities provide drugs to patients who are confined to their homes. In El Jadida, it is the space reserved for the horse show (exhibition park) that receives patients.

Rabat – Morocco’s Ministry of Health has recorded 1,889 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Morocco to 79,767.

Morocco also reported an additional 2,127 recoveries from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

The total number of recovered carriers now stands at 61,850. The country has a recovery rate of 77.5%.

Meanwhile, the health ministry recorded 38 more COVID-19 fatalities, bringing the death toll to 1,491. The mortality rate remains at 1.9%.
