Taroudant ? A student died and eight others, including one with muscular paralysis, were admitted to the regional hospital in critical condition as a result of acute intoxication at the campus of Mohammed V High School in Azrou, about 80 kilometers away from Fez.

Nine boarding students, who had their meals at the Mohammed V High School, were victims to food poisoning on the evening of Friday.

After the principal in charge of the students was informed of the health problems of the victims including vomiting, headaches, stomach pains, the administration called the ambulance and were urgently admitted to the regional Hospital of Azrou.

Some local people relate the poisoning to the bad conditions of the preparation or preservation of food, while others thought it was a bacterial contamination.
