More earthquakes reported in central Oklahoma

More rumblings underground, all in the same location, have been reported as earthquakes by the Oklahoma Geological Survey in Norman, bringing the total to 10 separate earthquakes in the last 24 hours in the state, the U.S. Geological Survey reports today.

All but one of the earthquakes was reported in eastern Oklahoma County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The other quake one was reported northeast of Ada early Thursday.

The largest earthquake was registered as 3.7 magnitude on the Richter scale Thursday night in Jones.

No damages have been reported.

The last quake in the eastern Oklahoma County area was recorded at 10:30 p.m. Thursday on the north and northeast side of Jones, reading 2.4 magnitude on the Richter scale.

In the same location at 10:15 p.m. on the north and northeast side of Jones, an earthquake reading 2.3 magnitude on the Richter scale, according to the survey.

And at 9:30 p.m. Thursday on the north and northeast side of Jones a rumbling registered as 2.4 magnitude on the Richter scale.

The survey reports the largest was at 9:09 p.m. Thursday, a 3.7 magnitude earthquake was felt in the same area.

ADA, Okla. ? At least eight (now 9) minor earthquakes have been recorded in central and southern Oklahoma in a single day.

The latest was a 2.3 magnitude quake recorded at 11:15 p.m. Thursday, about 15 miles northeast of Oklahoma City. Before that, a 3.7 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 9:09 p.m. in the Oklahoma City suburb of Jones. The National Earthquake Information Center recorded all eight earthquakes.

No damage or injuries have been reported.

Also on Thursday there was a 3.4 magnitude earthquake recorded at 3:22 a.m. in southeast Oklahoma. Five other earthquakes that ranged from 2.5 to 2.7 were near suburban Jones.

Quakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3 are generally the smallest felt by people.

that is universal time wich means least night.

The pitch have defenitively move towards north east subcontinent and weastern North CHina.

As for those who have notice the 3.0 mag earthquake in Negev Israel yesterday this was an accoustic experience made.

I have not read any of the scientific data regarding these quakes but, I have to wonder if there isn't a correlation between the temblors and the extraction of both oil and water. There is a huge underground aquifer that has been steadily depleted and of coarse oil and natural gas have been being pumped for years. Perhaps these are also at least partially responsible for the quakes. Anyone have the time to check it out?
