More Albertans in high-risk groups will be eligible this week to get vaccination shots for the swine flu.

Residents with underlying health conditions will be eligible as of Thursday if they are between the ages of 10 and 17 or 55 and 64.

On Friday, the clinics are open to those aged 45 to 54 with underlying conditions.

Pregnant women, caregivers of infants and at-risk children under 10 are already allowed to get the shots.

The province also announced that four more Albertans have died of complications from H1N1, bringing the death toll to 29.

Alberta Health reports four more H1N1 related deaths

CALGARY - Alberta Health reported four more deaths related to H1N1 today, bringing the total number of swine flu fatalities in the province to 29.

The deaths were reported on the department's website this afternoon and no details are yet available on where the victims lived or their ages.

The province's medical superboard, meanwhile, announced it will add several risk groups to those who are eligible for H1N1 vaccinations.

On November 12, people with chronic conditions who are between the ages of 55 and 64 and people with chronic conditions aged 10 to 17 will be able to get a shot.

Beginning Nov. 13, people with chronic conditions aged 45 to 54 will also be eligible.

"When more vaccine becomes available from the manufacturer, the targeted immunization program will be expanded to include other high risk groups," said a statement from Alberta Health Services.
