SOURCE OF EVENT OR ORIGIN OF INFECTION
Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 Eurasian lineage goose/Guangdong clade 2.3.4.4b was confirmed in three domestic cats (Felis catus). The cats were initially screened negative for rabies in 2022 and 2023. Samples were retrospectively tested for HPAI.
