Imho this attempt at a case list, while well intentioned, is a futile exercise. Since this version of monkeypox can be sexually transmitted, it is impossible to develop a case list that is accurate. There appear to be many suspected cases on the list which are impossible to follow since most have no identifying data i.e. exact age. When a suspected case is confirmed how does the list maker know if the confirmed case has already been accounted for as an already suspected case, or is a totally new case? A reliable list must double check the reporting agencies and this is impossible without some identifying information on each case.

If anyone wants to try to keep track of this sexually transmitted disease without the confidential case contact data, I suggest listing only the government confirmed cases with the accompanying details. Add a disclaimer giving the approximate current count of suspected cases, and/or cases under current investigation. I would also begin some research to be able to develop a estimation multiplier for potential cases. This is probably impossible to develop fully at this time because it is unknown how infectious monkeypox is when transmitted sexually. A multiplier based on the confirmed cases may give a more accurate picture of what is going on.

Those are good points, Sharon. I think you can get some of what you want from Jason's link. (Thank you, Jason.) I posted an earlier data version without the tools from the same group. I was grateful for the work put into it from a good source. I was able to copy the data into Excel, (husband helped - he worked with the tool quite a bit), but would have to keep doing that to get updates. Jason's link is much nicer because it has Excel type tools right there.

If you sort column B, (Status), alphabetically ascending, you'll get all the confirmed cases at the top of the list. Subtract 1 from the last confirmed case row counter on the far right, and you'll get the number of confirmed cases so far. Right now that is 401. I sorted the Gender column and there are 3 confirmed and 2 suspected females.

There might be a way to filter things, too. At this point I don't think they want their data published elsewhere, but you can use the tools to format and examine it. A multiplier would be great as long as it is reasonably accurate. As you pointed out, it's probably premature now.
