Seven cases of measles registered in Mongolia

​AKIPRESS.COM - The National Center for Communicable Diseases of Mongolia has confirmed the seventh case of measles through laboratory testing, GoGo reported.

The confirmed cases involve children who were hospitalized in the pediatric ward of Chingeltei District General Hospital between February 12 - February 23 and February 27 - March 2. These children were not the eligible age for the scheduled measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine.​..

Mongolia's National Centre for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) confirmed 11 new cases of measles infection, raising the national tally to 506.

More than half of the latest confirmed cases were among school-age children who have had only one shot of the measles vaccine, the NCCD said in a statement.

In this regard, the NCCD advised parents to protect their children from a potentially severe disease by getting them two doses of the measles vaccine.​..

Mongolia has registered 114 new cases of measles infection over the past 24 hours, bringing the national caseload to 3,042, according to the country's National Centre for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) on Saturday.

Meanwhile, 95 more measles patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,904, the NCCD said in a statement.

According to Mongolian doctors, more than half of the latest confirmed cases were among school-age children who had received only one measles vaccine shot.

In view of this, the NCCD advised parents to protect their children from a potentially severe disease by getting them two doses of the measles vaccine.​..

Ulan Bator, June 3 (IANS) Mongolia’s National Centre for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) on Tuesday confirmed 259 new cases of measles infection, raising the national tally to 5,075.

“All the latest confirmed cases were among school-age children who have had only one shot of the measles vaccine,” the NCCD said in a statement.

Meanwhile, 186 more measles patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,333, it said.​..

ULAN BATOR, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia has recorded six new cases of measles infection over the past 24 hours, bringing the national caseload to 13,752, according to the country's National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) on Friday.

Meanwhile, 25 people remained in the hospital, including four critically ill children, the NCCD said in a statement.

Measles outbreak continues in Mongolia

The total number of measles cases in Mongolia rose to 15,475 on Tuesday after 15 new infections were confirmed nationwide over the past 24 hours, according to the National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD).

Of the newly confirmed cases, 12 were reported in the capital city of Ulan Bator, which is home to more than half of the country's population of 3.5 million, the NCCD said.

A total of 22 measles-related deaths have been reported nationwide since the current outbreak was declared 482 days ago, according to the center.​..
