There are a couple of videos on the WKRG site. The second one reports that the sample collected from near the booms exploded when Bob Naman added an organic solvent to the sample to separate its components. This is a routine procedure and the explosion was completely unexpected. (He holds the blown out flask as he is interviewed.) WKRG will go back and collect more samples in the same area and have them analyzed for some of the components in the dispersant.

The amount of oil and petroleum on Alabama's beach should be undetectable, according to Bob Naman, an analytical chemist with nearly thirty years of experience.
