WILLMAR — The county government can have major roles to play when events impact large areas. This can include when there is an emergency at a school district or when infectious diseases are spreading.

At the Sept. 3 Kandiyohi County Board meeting, the commissioners will hear multiple presentations covering such topics. The meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the Kandiyohi County Health and Human Services Building board chambers in Willmar.

Denise Kragenbring, Public Health supervisor, will discuss information about the Health Alert Network and the role of county public health. She'll also update the board on recent measles cases in the county and on the highly pathogenic avian influenza.
