(DAYTON, Minn.) -- Minnesota health officials are investigating an outbreak of E. coli tied to a pumpkin farm?s petting zoo.
Three children between the ages of 15 months and 7 years contracted the dangerous O157:H7 strain of E. coli infection after petting animals at Dehn?s Pumpkins in Dayton, Minn., according to the state?s Department of Health. One child has been hospitalized with hemolytic uremic syndrome, or HUS, a complication that can lead to kidney failure.
