Minnesota measles outbreak has officials reupping pushes for vaccinations

As of Friday morning, there have been 10 cases of measles in Minnesota so far this year. While it might not seem like a lot, it’s a number that grew significantly within a week.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health, the outbreak is centered in the Twin Cities, but public health officials are also watching a growing measles outbreak in northeastern North Dakota, just across the Red River from northwest Minnesota. At least 14 people had contracted the disease in North Dakota as of Friday.​..

Health Officials Confirm Measles Case in Fillmore County

Preston, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Minnesota Department of Health has identified another Measles case in southeast Minnesota.

That’s according to Fillmore County Public Health, which says the case was identified by the Minnesota Department of Health Laboratory on Wednesday.

Fillmore County health officials say the case was the result of a domestic transmission into an unvaccinated adult.

A news release says health officials are working to identify people who were exposed to the infected person and any additional people who may be showing measles symptoms...

...The Fillmore County case marks the 25th Measles case reported in Minnesota in the past year, according to the US Disease Tracker. Three cases in that time span have been reported in Olmsted County. ..
