The Developmental Center of the Ozarks, a nonprofit that treats children and adults with developmental disabilities, is closing for at least a week because of what is believed to be a fast-moving, contagious viral illness.
We?re in the process of closing,? Executive Director Allan McKelvy said today.
He said more than nine children and five employees have the illness which is characterized by mouth sores. The illness was initially thought to be gingivostomatitis, but McKelvy said doctors have given them conflicting reports about this.
