Emergency Dept visits for ILI: 2.0%, a slight decrease from the previous week of 2.1% and below the ESSENCE ILI threshold of 4.4%.
Hospitalizations: The 65 and older age group is at 6.1% in Week 11. This is above all other age groups; the 0-4 age group is 3.8%, the 5-14 age group is 4.2% and the 15-64 age group is 2.7%.

Percent positive: No specimens were received by the State Public Health Laboratory for viral testing during week 12. (24 PCR and/or culture confirmed type A (H1N1) cases have been reported for week 12.)

One-third of the reporting counties reported: (Phelps County last week had ILI 16.56%; Howell County 7.29% & Cole County 3.52. They did not report in week 12):
The state rate of 1.62% in week 12 has decreased from the previous rate of 3.30% in week 11. This is below Missouri?s baseline of 2.47%.

For the week ending March 27, 2010 (week 12), the patient visits for influenza-like-illness were reported at 1.62% which is below Missouri?s baseline of 2.47%. However, this is above the two previous influenza seasons.

The 65 and older age group is at 6.0% in Week 12. This is above all other age groups; the 0-4 age group is 3.0%, the 5-14 age group is 5.5% and the 15-64 age group is 2.3%.

A total of two specimens were received by the State Public Health Laboratory for viral testing during week 13. All or 100% were positive for 2009 H1N1 influenza. Specimens were submitted by Sentinel Providers located in Kansas City and Adair County.

The state rate of 1.17% in week 13 has decreased from the previous rate of 1.62% in week 12. This is below Missouri’s baseline of 2.47%.

For the week ending April 3, 2010 (week 13), the patient visits for influenza-like-illness were reported at 1.17% which is below Missouri’s baseline of 2.47%. However, this is above the two previous influenza seasons. The 0-14 age group represents 65% of all influenza.

The weekly percent for week 13 is 1.4%, a slight decrease from the previous week of 1.7% and below the ESSENCE ILI threshold of 4.4%.

Hospitalizations: The 65 and older age group is at 5.9% in Week 13. This is above all other age groups; the 0-4 age group is 2.2%, the 5-14 age group is 2.2% and the 15-64 age group is 2.2%.
