For week 02 (01/10/10- 01/16/10), the overall state ILI rate (4.2%) decreased from last week (5.5%) and was lower than this time last year (7.5%)
There have been a total of 21 reported flu deaths (flu types include any flu case not confirmed as H1N1 swine flu) since August 29th, 12 that were confirmed H1N1 (14 total since May).
2 New deaths (total 23)
Since August 29th, there have been a total of 23 reported flu deaths, 12 that were confirmed H1N1. The two most recent flu deaths both occurred in DeSoto County in late January.
For week 04 (01/24/10- 01/30/10), the overall state ILI rate (5.0%) was comparable to last week(4.8%), but was lower than this time last year (8.8%).
From a Feb 5 update, 2 additional deaths from before Aug. 29 are now confirmed. This brings the total to 14 confirmed H1N1 and 11 "other flu deaths" for a total of 25. http://msdh.ms.gov/msdhsite/_static/14,0,334,82.html
During week 06, two districts (2 and 4) had a decrease in ILI activity, four districts (1, 3, 7, and 9) had an increase, and three remained about the same (5, 6, and 8).

increase, and four remained about the same (1, 4, 6, and 9). District 1 had been experiencing increased
ILI activity for the last three weeks, while District 6 ILI rate had been on an increase for the past two
weeks, but both leveled off from weeks 07 to 08. District 8 had also been experiencing increased ILI
activity for the last three weeks, but decreased dramatically from weeks 07 to 08. However, all of these
