Diseased African Monkeys Used to Make Swine Flu Vaccines; Private Military Contractor Holds Key Patents

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

(NaturalNews) To most people, vaccines sound medically harmless. "They're good for you!" say the doctors and drug companies, but they never really talk about what's in those vaccines. There's a good reason for that: If people knew what was really in those vaccines, they would never allow themselves to be injected with them.

Aside from the dangerous ingredients many people already know about (like squalene or thimerosal), one of the key ingredients used in flu vaccines (including the vaccines being prepared for the swine flu pandemic) is the diseased flesh of African Green Monkeys. This is revealed in U.S. patent No. 5911998 - Method of producing a virus vaccine from an African green monkey kidney cell line. (http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/5...)

As this patent readily explains, ingredients used in the vaccine are derived from the kidneys of African Green Monkeys who are first infected with the virus, then allowed to fester the disease, and then are killed so that their diseased organs can be used make vaccine ingredients. This is done in a cruel, inhumane "flesh factory" environment where the monkeys are subjected to a process that includes "incubating said inoculated cell line to permit proliferation of said virus." Then: "harvesting the virus resulting from step (c); and... (ii) preparing a vaccine from the harvested virus."

Aside from the outrageous cruelty taking place with all this ("incubating" the virus in the kidneys of living monkeys, for example), there's another disturbing fact that has surfaced in all this: The patent for this process is held not just by the National Institutes of Health, but by another private corporation known as DynCorp.

This, of course, brings up the obvious question: Who is Dyncorp? And why do they hold a patent on live attenuated vaccine production using African Green Monkeys?

Sorry - the FDA approval report said MDCK and I believe 2008 tests in Europe were done with MDCK.

The above patent:

US Patent 5911998 - Method of producing a virus vaccine from an African green monkey kidney cell line

US Patent Issued on June 15, 1999

1. A method of producing a vaccine for a virus selected from the group consisting of rotaviruses, enteroviruses, polioviruses, respiratory viruses, and hepatitis A viruses comprising the steps of:

(i) producing said virus using a cell line isolated from the kidney of an African Green Monkey, which cell line is substantially free of viable adventitious microbial agents and is able to support the growth of rotaviruses, astroviruses, enteroviruses, polioviruses, respiratory viruses, and hepatitis A viruses, by a method comprising:

(a) inoculating said cell line with an inoculum of said virus;

(b) incubating said inoculated cell line to permit proliferation of said virus; and

(c) harvesting the virus resulting from step (c); and

(ii) preparing a vaccine from the harvested virus.

2. The method, according to claim 1, wherein the virus is a human rotavirus.

3. The method, according to claim 1, wherein the virus is a human X animal rotavirus reassortant.

4. The method according to claim 1, wherein the virus is a Sabin live attenuated oral poliovirus.

Re: Diseased African Monkeys Used to Make Swine Flu Vaccines; Private Military Contractor Holds Key Patents

I posted this just to comment on moronic "news" posted by a "Health Ranger" at "natural news". The African Green Monkey kidney CELL LINE (Vero cells) has been around for decades. The linked patent descibes use of the CELL LINE for making vaccines (many differnt targets). The "Health Ranger" seems to have missed the fact that ALL of the work in the 1999 patent uses a CELL LINE created decades ago (I think in the 1960's),

The "Health Ranger" assumes (and states) monkeys are being used (which would make NO sense and certainly would NOT be cost effective).

Making vaccines in monkeys is beyond moronic, but I suspect this "story" will be widely circulated as internet babble to feed growing conspiracy theories on the pandemic and associated vaccines.

Are we sure that it will really be MDCK and clean MDCK?

http://cellbank.nibio.go.jp/cellbank/qualitycontrol/OL7-11-07.pdf
"Cell cultures are important tools for biomedical research and have been used successfully in diverse fields such as
medicine, genetics, drug discovery, vaccine development, reconstructive medicine, basic science, HIV testing and
treatment and cell biology. Without doubt, all these, and many more, have progressed using cell culture models. The fact
is that cell culture technology, which is not trivial science, is of major importance in biomedical research and technology
and, therefore, to all of us. However, its usefulness continues to engage investigators at a pace and frequency that often
leads to significant gaps regarding fundamental principles of quality control such as cell line authentication.
Irrefutable evidence has demonstrated that cross-contamination and misidentification of mammalian cell cultures is
widespread.1 Major cell line repositories such as the ATCC (American Type Culture Collection), the Coriell Institute
for Medical Research, the European Collection of Cell Cultures (ECACC), Deutsche Sammlung von
Mikrorganismen und Zellkulturen (DMSZ, the German Cell Repository) and the Japanese Collection of Research
Resources (JCRR) have experienced cell line submissions that, upon authentication testing, were determined to have
been misidentified by the depositor. Similar experiences have been shared by countless scientists worldwide, after
receipt of cell cultures donated by their colleagues. Although we recognize that the incidence of cross-contamination
may vary among scientific specialties and individual groups, the problem of misidentification and crosscontamination
is prevalent and continues unabated, at a rate that has increased in the half-century following its
uncovering. Its consequence, the use of cultures that are not what they are purported to be, has spawned a segment of
research and subsequent scientific literature that is blemished ? that is false. Estimates vary, but as many as 20% of
scientific publications using cultured cells may be involved. Using a perspective from another scientific discipline ? a
paper would not be published in the chemical literature without some indication of chemical purity. In direct analogy,
if a scientific investigator introduces a cell line, there should be the expectation that it is authenticated. A cell line is a
reagent in an experiment just like a chemical. If something is wrong with the cell line, the validity of the experiment
is compro mised. Therefore, publication of a research paper based upon faulty cell line identification inevitably leads
to a cascade of other misleading misinformation, with a potential for dire consequences."

Like the SV40 contaminated polio vaccine?
MDCK are canine kidney cells. The vaccine that is scheduled for fall delivery is made in eggs.

Niman, if you are going to post an article just to show how bogus it is, then you should change the title to reflect that.

Someone may come along and just read the article and believe it. We are such a credible news source that no one expects to see bogus stuff here.

I have mixed emotions about posting junk here on the front page news in a manner that makes it to appear legit at first glance. Thanks to AD for changing the title :tiphat:

If you read the fine print at the bottom of the Natural News site, you will see this:

Maybe we should have a subforum named "LaLa Land" for this kind of post.

They tried multiple MDCK lines and processes before they arrived at a line and process they felt was safe for human use. Some of the lines are clearly not suitable for human vaccines.

Do they use them in pet vaccines?

I don't know - that's a good question.

Someone posted that cell technology is currently used for polio, MMR, etc., vaccines, but I couldn't find exactly which line.

.

Re: (Misinformation) Diseased African Monkeys Used to Make Swine Flu Vaccines; Private Military Contractor Holds Key Patents

The problem of cancer at the injection site was the primary issue with the MDCK lines NOT selected for human vaccinations - that I read about.

I would be interested to see exactly which MDCK line they used for those vaccinations. If they used one known to cause cancer, that was crazy!

.

Re: (Misinformation) Diseased African Monkeys Used to Make Swine Flu Vaccines; Private Military Contractor Holds Key Patents

Good that you checked it out. It is SO hard to find these little details.

While it's comforting to know it's not MDCK, it makes me wonder what it was they used and what connection there is to cancer.

The P53 genes that commands the body to destroy cancer cells can be stimulated with ellagic acid, but I don't think I could get a cat to drink pomegranate juice or eat raspberries - both good ellagic acid sources.

Re: (Misinformation) Diseased African Monkeys Used to Make Swine Flu Vaccines; Private Military Contractor Holds Key Patents

Ah, now that you bring up the vax site issue, I remember my vet explaining a little about changing sites. IIrc, he said it wasn't a problem we were having in our area, which would have nothing to do with the vaccine itself unless we used a different supplier here.

PUREVAX FELV
Active substance / INN: vCP97 recombinant canarypoxvirus (FeLV)107.5 CCID50 (Cell
Culture Infectious Dose 50%)
http://www.emea.europa.eu/vetdocs/PDFs/EPAR/PurevaxFeLV/026600en6.pdf

Canarypox virus (CNPV) is an avipoxvirus and etiologic agent of canarypox, a disease of wild and captive birds that can cause significant losses. Canarypox can enter human cells, but it cannot survive and multiply in human cells. There is a live viral vaccine available (ATCvet code: QI01KD01).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canarypox

CNPV has been successfully used as a host range-restricted mammalian expression vector and is a vaccine vector of increasing importance, with CNPV-based veterinary vaccines commercially available and human vaccines undergoing clinical trials (34, 35, 44, 90). Licensed and experimental CNPV-based vaccines, most of which utilize the highly attenuated ALVAC strain of CNPV (91), encode a range of pathogen and tumor-associated antigens, including those from rabies virus, canine distemper virus, feline leukemia virus, human immunodeficiency virus, human cytomegalovirus, hepatitis B and C viruses, Plasmodium falciparum, melanoma, and colorectal cancer (3, 35, 67-69, 90, 91). Vaccine use takes advantage of the abortive infection that avipoxvirus vectors undergo in mammalian cells while still expressing virally encoded antigens to safely generate cellular, humoral, and protective immune responses (69, 84, 91-94). CNPV-based vaccines have proven effective in prime-boost vaccine strategies and as immunoadjuvants through expression of recombinant cytokines and costimulatory proteins (47, 67-69, 90). Recent evidence suggests that dendritic cell antigen presentation, maturation, and apoptosis are important in CNPV-generated immunity (24, 41, 55, 59). Improved understanding of virus-host interactions should yield improved vaccine vectors, as demonstrated by recent incorporation of vaccinia virus (VACV) host response modification genes to create a third-generation CNPV-based vaccine (28, 44).

Dear Dr Niman:

Well, some people fell for this story, but seriously, why do you have to post it? I had a registered nurse write me who admits being scared and falling for the story. Why alarm them further?

Instead of playing on people's fears, we should educate them instead.

There is a problem with serum contamination, and I do NOT want the vaccine for lack of testing and of possible MDCK genetic contamination if made from that line and of the squalene contamination issue which has been scientifically documented to help induce autoimmune disorders (at least in rats).

I would urge you to not give in to sarcasm, but continue to educate.

Is that fair enough to ask?
