The listed regions only represent areas where people have been tested and had positive results. 2 More Deaths Linked To H1N1 Flu In Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ― Two more deaths linked with the swine flu virus are reported in Minnesota, raising the total to three.

The state Department of Health said Wednesday that an elderly individual and a child, both from the Twin Cities area, were the latest victims.

Officials said the elderly patient had underlying medical problems and was hospitalized, while the child had an extensive bacterial infection in addition to the virus.

Another child from the Twin Cities area died from swine flu last month. Officials said in that case the victim had multiple medical conditions before falling ill.

Health officials urged state residents to assume the virus is still circulating and be diligent about taking precautions to avoid contracting or spreading the illness.

while the child had an extensive bacterial infection in addition to the virus.

Delightfully vague, but since they didn't announce it as an underlying or pre-existing condition, it seems likely to be pneumonia or a hospital acquired infection such as MRSA or P. aeruginosa.
