First flu death reported in Minnesota

ST. PAUL - -- State Health Department officials report the first death of Minnesota's early flu season.

The state Health Department has not identified the victim -- adding this past week also saw one more person hospitalized, bringing the statewide total to four so far. But so far there have been no flu outbreaks at schools or nursing homes.

The Health Department's Kris Ehresman says this year's flu vaccine appears to be a good match for the strain that is now circulating.
