Minister of Health Resolution Virus Continue Struggle at Geneva

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta - Minister of Health Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih continue to fight the virus in the transfer resolution of the Executive Board meeting the World Health Organization. The trial lasted for five days in Geneva, Switzerland since the start Monday.

SMTA will open access to influenza viruses, which opens great opportunities for developing country researchers to enhance research capacity. Indonesia and other developing countries can develop diagnostic tools, vaccines and drug against bird flu virus and other viruses of pandemic potential, including H1N1, or swine flu. So that the capacity of research and vaccine production is not limited to just a few developed countries ..

In the trial this time, Indonesia also has proposed a new draft resolution on the Improvement of Health through the Safe and Environmentally Sound Management and Viral Hepatitis. The government has also prepared several other responses concerning the resolution of Birth defects, Availability, Safety, & Blood Product Quality, Monitoring the achievement of MDGs, food safety and others, who have a large impact on health in Indonesia.

Apart from attending the hearing, the Indonesian delegation also plans several bilateral meetings with several ministers of health which is considered to strengthen Indonesia's position in the Executive Board forums. Some ministers who met, among others from India, Bangladesh and several other world organizations such as the Excutive Director of the Global Funds and others.
