The Michigan flu code has officially been increased from
?Regional? activity to ?Widespread? activity for Week 3. This is
due to new lab-confirmed increases in parts of the Northern
region, expanding activity within the Central region, and
ongoing/increasing activity in the SE and SW regions. We are
still seeing predominantly A/H1N1, with some A/H3N2 and
occasional B?s.

Influenza-associated Pediatric Mortality
One (1) pediatric influenza (A/H1N1-09) death has been
confirmed by MDHHS for the 2018-2019 flu season.
Nationally, 22 influenza-associated pediatric deaths have
been reported thus far for the 2018-2019 flu season.
