Confirmed case of viral meningitis prompts extra disinfection at Jackson High School

JACKSON, MI ? Extra cleaning crews were brought into Jackson High School on Thursday, Oct. 30, after school officials learned an ill student had a confirmed case of viral meningitis, Jackson Public Schools Superintendent Jeff Beal said.

The crews from Enviro Clean, the district's custodial services provider, were in the school during the night disinfecting the building as a precaution, Beal said.

The student, who has been hospitalized, had a fever that peaked on Oct. 16, Beal said. The student has not been in school for about two weeks, he said...
