EAST LANSING — A Michigan State University student who was living on campus has been diagnosed with bacterial meningitis, but the school said there is "minimal risk" to the campus community.

"The student is recovering well and being treated at a local hospital," MSU officials said in a letter to the campus community. "The Ingham County Health Department, in coordination with MSU, has conducted contact tracing and identified those who may have been in close contact with the individual and rendered the appropriate medical care."
