BAY CITY, MI ? A meningitis scare at the Bay County Jail seems to be under control, according to a local health official...

...the incident was limited to one cell block and didn't spread throughout the entire facility.

The jail at 503 Third St. in Bay City went on lockdown Monday morning after an inmate was believed to have the contagion. Two inmates and one employee were taken to McLaren Bay Region hospital in light of the outbreak, Strasz said. As of Tuesday, one of the three had been released, but Strasz could not divulge further details on the other two's conditions.

Which variation of meningitis ? bacterial, viral or fungal ? hit the jail is yet to be determined as well, Strasz said...
