FENTON, MI ? A Fenton man known for his love of family and sports died Saturday after falling ill with the flu the day after Christmas...

Kirk showed no signs of illness on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, but Joe said his brother suddenly fell ill on Dec. 26, taken to Genesys before he was transferred to Henry Ford Medical Center where he died Saturday.

...?He got the flu, became dehydrated, lethargic went into the hospital and his liver and kidneys failed,? said Joe. ?He was normal two to three days ago. I don?t know what happened all of a sudden...?

 As word spreads, the Flint and Fenton communities are mourning the loss of a loving husband and proud father of five. Kirk Beauchamp, 44, of Fenton came down suddenly ill with flu symptoms the day after Christmas and died a few short days later on Saturday, Dec. 29...

...On the day after Christmas, Tim said Kirk and Amy both came down with flu symptoms, which included vomiting. While Amy?s symptoms lessened over the next day, Kirk?s symptoms worsened. Tim said Kirk was in a lot of pain and he took some over the counter pain medicine. After that didn?t relieve his pain, Kirk went to the hospital.

?He knew he had to go,? said Tim. ?He?s not the type to run to the hospital either.? Once at the hospital, Tim said his brother?s organs just began shutting down. ?So many things started going wrong.?

Kirk was air lifted from Genesys Health Park to Henry Ford Hospital, however, there was no improvement. ?His heart just gave out,? Tim said...

1/5/13 - Services were held Thursday for a father of five from Fenton who passed away after suffering from flu-like symptoms late last month. 44-year-old Kirk Beauchamp of Fenton and his wife Amy both came down with the flu on December 26th. Amy recovered from the illness, but Kirk did not show signs of improving. The Tri-County Times reports he was taken to Genesys Health Park for treatment, then air-lifted to Henry Ford Hospital, but did not improve under their care...
