[TD]Epidemiology
| Source of the outbreak(s) or origin of infection |
|
| Epidemiological comments | As part of the active epidemiological surveillance, the serological presence of Aujeszky's disease was detected in four backyards in Tamaulipas State and in one pig farm in Guerrero State without clinical signs. In all five outbreaks, ELISA and serological neutralization test results were positive. So far, the virus has not been isolated. Producers in the area were advised to immediately inform official veterinarians of the presence of characteristic signs of the disease and to avoid the movement of pigs and the introduction of herds presenting a risk in the area. |
