Increased seismic activity in San Miguel volcano Chaparrastique

According to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN), since last March 12 has reported an increase in microseismic Chaparrastique volcano in San Miguel.
Typically, seismic amplitudes fluctuate around 50 units on average per day, however, from Sunday 13 March, seismic amplitudes reached 121 units, but the March 20, rose to 414 units.
Chaparrastique The volcano has shown similar increases in previous years, particularly during the August 9, 2010, no reports statements or other visible changes in their activity.
During inspections of the crater on 9 and March 16 were observed for some minutes, pulses of gas and rising out of the crater about 200 meters or so.
The gas monitoring stations reported similar issues to those identified in previous months, although the chemistry of water samples collected at the Well and Living in New Jocotal Laguna, south of the volcano, are unchanged or have been identified variations in the temperature of the fumaroles of the crater.
Experts indicate that variation in the seismicity is related to processes of intense degassing within the volcano and broken rocks, which activity is expected to gradually return to normal.
Officials recommend people not to stay within a radius of two kilometers around the crater, for a period of one month and remain alert to the information generated by MARN, and meet the indications issued by the Directorate General of Civil Protection.
Meanwhile, the National Service of Territorial Studies (SNET) indicated that one of the last earthquake reported, was yesterday at 8.24 pm, with a magnitude of 1.9 degree, located in the vicinity of the Laguna Verde, in the department Ahuachap?n Apaneca intensity II.
