SSA Report 22 thousand 363 cases of Influenza A and 199 deaths

Mexico, 3 Sep (Notimex) .- The Ministry of Health (SSA) reported that to date the number of confirmed cases with influenza A (H1N1) in the country amounts to 22 thousand 363 and 199 known deaths.
Reliance said that in the 32 states are recorded cases of infection, of which most is concentrated in Chiapas, Yucatan followed, the Federal District, Jalisco, Veracruz, Tamaulipas and Tabasco.
He stated that of 199 people died because of that, 86.9 percent had cough, fever 85.4, 75.4 difficulty breathing, coughing 51.8 and 50.8 percent malaise.
In this universe, 50.8 percent were female and 49.2 percent male, while in the age range, 71.9 percent were between 20 and 54, detailed the SSA in a statement.
The SSA warned that because the influenza virus A (H1N1) is still present among the population, it is important to remain vigilant and maintain preventive measures such as frequent hand washing and sneezing etiquette.
He noted that some common symptoms that generates the influenza virus is temperature higher than 38 degrees, burning and sore throat, cough, headache with abrupt onset and high intensity, joint and muscle pain, runny nose and in some cases diarrhea.
He said that worldwide, there are over 209 thousand 438 cases and 185 over two thousand deaths, but because the countries have failed to report confirmed cases of A (H1N1) by indications from the World Health Organization (WHO), the number may be lower than the actual figure.
