The number of deaths from influenza A/H1N1 in Mexico rose from 85 to 89, while maintaining the downward trend of the epidemic of the new virus, reported on Wednesday the Health Ministry.

The Health Secretariat (SSA) confirmed that since the beginning of the contingency by the outbreak of influenza A/H1N1 on April 23, 95 people have died, six more than on Wednesday, while there have been four thousand 974 infections.

In a statement, the SSA explained that the 95 deaths, representing 1.9 percent of the total confirmed cases, 52.6 percent were women and 47.4 men, that 75.8 percent of those killed were between 20 and 54 years of age.

Said that of those who died more than 84 percent had symptoms such as cough and fever, 76.8 percent headache, 54.7 percent overall and attack 52.6 percent expectoration.

In turn 33.7 percent of those killed had metabolic disorders such as obesity and diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease 18.9 per cent, 11.6 per cent tobacco, 9.5 percent and other respiratory diseases, autoimmune and neoplastic.

The Ministry of Health indicated that 32 states reported confirmed cases of influenza A/H1N1, although most are concentrated in the Federal District and in the states of San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Veracruz, Jalisco and Hidalgo.

The unit said that the epidemic in Mexico is continuing its downward trend, however, stressed that it is important to continue with preventive measures such as frequent hand washing and sneezing etiquette.

The number of cases of infection rose to 460 in five thousand around the country

The number of human deaths from influenza in Mexico rose to 103, with confirmation in recent days killed six more by the new virus, reported on Tuesday, the Health Ministry.

The figure rose to five thousand infected 460 throughout the country, the agency said in a statement.

Previous figures, released Friday, 97 died and 4932 were infected.

The Health Ministry has said in recent days that the epidemic of influenza A H1N1 continues to decline and the increase in numbers is because advances in the analysis of samples accumulated.

The number of deaths accounted for 1.9% of the cases confirmed until Monday night (5563, including infected and dead).

Of the 103 deaths, 52.4% were women and 47.6% men, and that 73.8% were between 20 and 54 years.

Mexico, DF. The number of deaths caused by new strain of influenza A/H1N1 in Mexico rose to 106, said Thursday the Ministry of Health, which noted that very few new cases of the disease.

The Afghan authorities have reported 103 deaths until Tuesday. Including those who died, the government's 5 thousand documented 717 cases of influenza.

The disease has spread to 64 countries in the world, infecting more than 19 thousand people.
