Ana Laura is the 36th victim of meningitis, this after October of last year the first cases of this disease began to be disclosed, which to date has resulted in the infection of 79 people, mostly women who came to have their children in one of the four private hospitals identified as responsible for the contagion.

Just last Friday, a demonstration was held in which the relatives of those who have died for this reason participated, as well as some patients receiving treatment at home, however they have resulted in motor impairments such as lack of sensation in their legs after be diagnosed with this fungus.

Regarding the issue, the Secretary of Health of Durango, Irasema Kondo Padilla, announced that there are currently two patients in serious condition, one of whom is in the General Hospital 450 and one more in the High Specialty Medicine Unit of the IMSS in Torreón Coahuila; in addition to two stable patients admitted to the General Hospital 450.

"Let's hope that there are no longer patients who come to complicated therapy," said the head of the State Health Secretariat, who reported that patients who are at home are being monitored either with oral or outpatient treatment, all of them They are diagnosed as stable.
