Mexico calls for commitment to the agreement on sharing of influenza viruses
By Agencia EFE - 9 hours ago
Geneva, 17 feb (EFE) .- Mexico today called on the WHO Executive Board to make every effort to reach agreement on influenza virus sharing and equitable access to vaccines for all countries.
In his speech to the Council, which meets in Geneva this week, Secretary of Health of Mexico, Jose Angel Cordova Villalobos, quickly called in the negotiation.
"We reiterate the urgent need in April, successfully concluded the negotiation of the arc for the sharing of influenza viruses and access to benefits," he said.
The deal would happen because all that country with the virus strain causing the pandemic share it with those who have the capacity to produce vaccine to combat it.
