This is 4 more cases with 2 announced as dead. Basic details missing.

There seems to be a trend of announcing serious cases after they die.

The icon on the Saudi MoH site is incorrect. It should read "96" instead of "92". We have counted 97 cases due to our interpretation of disease origin. Last week our case list closely matched the Saudi MoH list because our case #87 was numbered as Saudi case #86 by Dr. Memish in his ProMed submittal of August 29 here

Since then the Saudi MoH has announced 10 more cases so their icon should read "96".

I think that the mismatch is due to the Batin cluster asymptomatic cases: these contacts were not initially accounted, leaving the count standing at 84/86 for many days. These cases did not match case-definition and the laboratory results likely have not been validated from an external reference centre. It is unclear whether or when these cases will be notified to the WHO and whether the agency will recognize them as confirmed.

Thanks Giuseppe. It is weird that the Saudi MoH announces these cases as confirmed and then does not add them to their total. :confused:

MOH: 'Two Cases of Novel Coronavirus Recorded in Hafr Al-Batin and Other Two Cases Passed Away in Madinah and Riyadh'

Within the framework of the constant monitoring and epidemiological surveillance of the novel Coronavirus (MERS-CoV), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced that two confirmed cases have been recorded; including a 18-year-old male citizen and a three-year-old female child, who were in contact with a confirmed case in Hafr Al-Batin, and did not suffer from any symptoms upon but their health condition is good, praise be to Allah.

Within the same vein, the MOH has announced the death of two cases.

The first case is for a 56-year-old resident in Madinah, who works in the health sector.

The second case is for a 53-year-old citizen in Riyadh, who had been suffering from various chronic diseases, May Allah have mercy upon them.
