My experience is that China media is reliable except for issues about China itself. They are largely a propaganda machine but can be a good source of core facts outside of China. Their media, in general, is anti-West in its interpretation but is no less reliable than Reuters, MSN, CNN, etc. in reporting outside China. IMHO all of the world's major media report with bias now. Sadly, the days of pure objective reporting are gone.

KAJO-KEJI - 4 OCT 2022

Kajo-Keji authorities probe suspected Ebola case

Health authorities in Kajo-Keji County of Central Equatoria State are calling on residents not to panic after a resident died after presenting with Ebola symptoms.

Gonda George, Kajo-Keji county health director said health officials are still investigating the case although the victim also suffered from severe pelvic ulcers and alcoholism.

He noted that although the victim vomited blood, that is not the only symptom of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).

“The person who died is the one we are currently investigating and he presented signs and symptoms of Ebola developed within 12 hours and died after 24 hours without reaching the hospital. He died at home," the health official said. "The dead victim had pelvic ulcers and he was involved in excessive drinking in the community without proper eating and he vomited yellowish and blood and that was what the investigation team found out."

The national health ministry says it has recorded four Ebola suspected cases in Nimule, Yei, Yambio and Kajo-Keji last week, saying blood samples of three suspected cases of Ebola have already been sent to South Africa for screening.

Ebola suspects isolated at Nimule Hospital

Health authorities in the border town of Nimule in Eastern Equatoria State have said that at least two people who presented with signs and symptoms of Ebola are currently undergoing medical investigation at Nimule Hospital.

The Magwi County health director, Gama Emmanuel, told Radio Tamazuj Tuesday that one of the cases is from within Nimule town and the other was brought from Pageri.

“Yesterday we received two alerts (suspected cases), one was from Nimule Hospital and presented signs and symptoms related to Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) but we deployed our Rapid Response Team (RRT) and began immediately to examine and referred the patient to the Out Patient Department (OPD) for further management,” he said. “Just after 3o minutes, we also received an alert from Pageri at the community level and the RRT team went there and brought the patient to Nimule Hospital for further management.”

....

The Eastern Equatoria State health minister, Lodae Pasquale, confirmed that two suspected Ebola cases were being managed at Nimule Hospital but downplayed the severity of their symptoms.

“These two cases did not present typical signs and symptoms of Ebola but have some signs, but for precautionary measures, we said we need to just observe them,” he said. “The two cases are in isolation because there is a special isolation unit that was recently created and this is where we make the observations.”
