A CRUISE ship stopping off at Saint Lucia has been detained due to a suspected outbreak of measles. The vessel has been quarantined after medical officers are said to have received reports of a passenger with the highly-infectious illness on board.

A cruise ship has been quarantined in Saint Lucia after a suspected outbreak of measles. Website Newsweek reported the incident, which is set to have left the as-yet unidentified vessel detained in port in the Caribbean yesterday. It quoted Saint Lucia?s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Merlene Fredericks-James who told a local publication medics had been alerted to a passenger complaint of measles on board. She said in a statement: ?We got information early this morning through two sources?two reputable sources?that there was a confirmed case of measles on a cruise ship that visited our Island.?...
