McDuffie County Schools Confirm Three Cases Of Swine Flu

McDuffie County Schools have 3 confirmed cases of the H1N1 (swine flu) among their student population. Officials say the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the McDuffie County Board of Health and local physicians are working together to ensure the safest measures are followed for all citizens.

THOMSON, Ga. - NBC Augusta 26 News has learned four children have tested positive for H1N1 in McDuffie County.

* McDuffie County School Board notifies parents about swine flu cases

The McDuffie County School Board says three students contracted the virus, also known as swine flu.

The county?s health department says an infant also tested positive for H1N1.

We're told the children have been treated with medication and are doing fine.

Health workers tell 26 News more cases are expected to be reported in the next several weeks.

All McDuffie County schools will remain open and board members say the district will follow recommendations set by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
