The authorities of the island of Mauritius decided to close all schools until the end of the month, after the number of confirmed cases of influenza A/H1N1 has reached four, said on Thursday Reuters.
"The authorities decided to close school tomorrow until 31 August, when classes will begin again" - agency quoted an official statement of powers.
The authorities have taken similar measures, when a 51% increase in the number of missing pupils in schools, compared with 31.6% recorded since the beginning of the disease.
The first case of influenza A/H1N1 has been registered on the island in late June, the French tourist arrivals to the country of Argentina. Five patients died, but authorities claim that the influenza virus was not the direct cause of death.
