Many of the students who were hospitalized due to poisoning of food
in the Matale district have left the hospitals. According to Police
Spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakodi, a total of 114 students from 3
schools in Matale were admitted to the hospital
after consuming the
noon meal provided to them by the school on 10 Feb 2010. A grade 4
student of the Buddhagosha Vidyalaya died on admission to the
hospital.
One supplier has supplied food to all 3 schools.

Many victims of Matale food poisoning now discharged

(Colombo Lankapuvath February 14) Many of the students who were hospitalized due to poisoning of food in the Matale district have left the hospitals.

According to Police Spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakodi, a total of 114 students from three schools in Matale were admitted to the hospital after consuming the noon meal provided to them by the school on the 10th of February.

A grade 04 student of the Buddhagosha Vidyalaya, Kavishka Dhananjani died in admission to the hospital.

One supplier has supplied food to all three schools while both he and his wife who were taken in to custody were produced in courts yesterday (13) said the Police Spokesman.
