An Abington high school student athlete has been diagnosed with MRSA, a type of bacteria that is resistant to certain antibiotics.

Abington School Superintendent Peter Schafer says that the process of informing the student population began Tuesday afternoon when they learned of the diagnosis. The student?s fellow athletes were notified late Tuesday, and the rest of the student population was informed late Wednesday...

...Four cases of the infection were reported at Westford High just last week.
