5 influenza-associated pediatric deaths were reported for the season

The 2012-13 influenza season was the most active since the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic...

Over 3,000 influenza-associated hospitalizations and over 5,600 laboratory-confirmed cases were reported in Maryland. The season saw two peaks of activity, one in February and another in March 2013, corresponding to peak influenza type A (H3N2) activity then influenza type B activity.
