The figures from the daily report of the Regional Health Agency show 157 people (+1 compared to yesterday), infected with the coronavirus covid-19. These figures are confirmed by the CHUM which deplores 2 new deaths this Sunday, April 12, 2020.
Among the 157 confirmed cases:
• 75 women and 82 men
• 36 are between 15 and 44 years old
• 62 are between 45 and 64 years old
• 44 are aged 65 to 74
• 15 are over 75
Today, 35 patients are hospitalized, including 17 in the intensive care unit, or 48.5% of hospitalized patients. The patients are at the Pierre Zobda Quitman hospital in Fort-de-France.
Since the start of the health crisis, 50 people in Martinique have been cured and 8 deaths and 3 suspected deaths have been reported.
The average age of people hospitalized in intensive care is 64 years with a minimum of 25 years and a maximum of 85 years.

Martinique is registering a new case of coronavirus this Thursday, April 16. The total is therefore 160 confirmed cases.
Biologically confirmed cases are increasing in Martinique. With an additional case in 24 hours, the total is 159 cases. The number of people healed is still 73. Since the start of the epidemic in Martinique, 16 people are still hospitalized in intensive care and 8 have died. In addition, there are three suspected deaths and 130 cases identified by the sentinel network.

Three more Covid-19 cases were identified this Friday, April 17, 2020 by the Regional Health Agency. One case confirmed by the Martinique University Hospital and two by private laboratories. So the case number is 163.

Five patients have left the intensive care unit of the CHU since yesterday (Thursday, April 16, 2020) bringing to 11 the number of patients currently hospitalized.
73 people are healed.
Since the start of the health crisis, 12 deaths have been reported by the CHUM, including 7 confirmed biologically.
The 2nd regional epidemic point
The sentinel network estimates over the last three weeks between 23/03 and 12/04, 350 symptomatic cases of Covid-19.
Over the last three weeks, the share attributable to Covid-19 in consultations in town medicine (SOS Doctors and Sentinel Network) is estimated at 350 (cumulative number between 23/03 and 12/04).
In the hospital, since the beginning of April, the data reported show a decrease in hospitalizations and admissions to intensive care.
Four possible cases of Covid-19 were identified between March 27 and April 15, 2020 in nursing homes / EMS in Martinique following reports in three accommodation facilities for the elderly. These are residents, no cases possible among the staff.
None of these possible cases have been hospitalized or died. Furthermore, no possible or confirmed case or death related to covid-19 has been reported among the staff of social and medico-social establishments.
In addition, 15 death certificates with the "Covid-19 mention" in the medical causes of death were reported on April 15, 2020. Some of these deaths are either suspect or biologically confirmed. They integrate the data transmitted by the Martinique University Hospital which notified 11 biologically confirmed or probable deaths.

What results on monitoring the contacts of infected people?

Since the start of the epidemic, Martinique has recorded 175 people contaminated with Covid-19 in hospital follow-up. But how many people have they spread the virus to? ARS figures.
One of the key elements in controlling an epidemic is the proper monitoring of the chain of contacts of infected people. This monitoring is not specific to the Coronavirus epidemic, but it is even more fundamental for the Covid-19 because of its mode and its ease of transmission.
The ARS Martinique operational teams presented, last evening, their first quantified assessment and the analyzes which follow from this monitoring of the virus transmission chain from the cases confirmed at Covid-19.
Before the figures, it is important to understand the operating mode of this monitoring chain.
Theoretically, it seems relatively simple but nevertheless requires significant human resources for effective monitoring 7 days a week.
A contamination scale
Once a case is confirmed, the objective is to trace the patient's previous journey to the various people with whom he has been in contact. A classification of contamination risks is then established. Contacts are then monitored on a value scale ranging from low to high risks. Only so-called moderate or high risk contacts are followed.
Once identified, the latter must be in their fortnight and are followed up by telephone by teams twice / week. A dedicated number is reserved for them for all calls concerning the appearance of symptoms typical of the virus (cough, fever, difficulty breathing…) A strict fortnight is requested with in particular the wearing of a mask (provided by the ARS) compulsory.
Exemplary containment = effective result
Concerning the figures, the results presented by the ARS relate to the 175 cases currently diagnosed on our island. On this overall, the number of contacts of these patients considered to be at moderate or high risk was 560, or approximately 3.2 contacts / case.
Of these 560 people identified, 32 (6%) developed the disease. Fifteen of them are still in their fortnight under surveillance.

What results on monitoring the contacts of infected people?

Since the start of the epidemic, Martinique has recorded 175 people contaminated with Covid-19 in hospital follow-up. But how many people have they spread the virus to? ARS figures.
One of the key elements in controlling an epidemic is the proper monitoring of the chain of contacts of infected people. This monitoring is not specific to the Coronavirus epidemic, but it is even more fundamental for the Covid-19 because of its mode and its ease of transmission.
The ARS Martinique operational teams presented, last evening, their first quantified assessment and the analyzes which follow from this monitoring of the virus transmission chain from the cases confirmed at Covid-19.
Before the figures, it is important to understand the operating mode of this monitoring chain.
Theoretically, it seems relatively simple but nevertheless requires significant human resources for effective monitoring 7 days a week.
A contamination scale
Once a case is confirmed, the objective is to trace the patient's previous journey to the various people with whom he has been in contact. A classification of contamination risks is then established. Contacts are then monitored on a value scale ranging from low to high risks. Only so-called moderate or high risk contacts are followed.
Once identified, the latter must be in their fortnight and are followed up by telephone by teams twice / week. A dedicated number is reserved for them for all calls concerning the appearance of symptoms typical of the virus (cough, fever, difficulty breathing…) A strict fortnight is requested with in particular the wearing of a mask (provided by the ARS) compulsory.
Exemplary containment = effective result
Concerning the figures, the results presented by the ARS relate to the 175 cases currently diagnosed on our island. On this overall, the number of contacts of these patients considered to be at moderate or high risk was 560, or approximately 3.2 contacts / case.
Of these 560 people identified, 32 (6%) developed the disease. Fifteen of them are still in their fortnight under surveillance.

The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 remains stable in Martinique this Friday, May 1, 2020 with 180 cases (+1). The number of patients hospitalized in intensive care is also stable with 5 people.

The Martinique Regional Health Agency announces this Friday, May 1, 2020 a number of confirmed cases stable compared to April 30, 2020. Indeed, Martinique has 180 confirmed cases (+1 confirmed by private laboratories) and the number of patients hospitalized in intensive care is stable at 5 (+0).
Among the 180 confirmed cases:
• There are 90 women and 90 men
• 1 is 0 to 14 years old
• 41 are between 15 and 44 years old
• 77 are between 45 and 64 years old
• 45 are aged 65 to 74
• And 16 are over 75
Of all the confirmed cases, the 45-64 age group is the largest and represents 42% of the confirmed cases and 34% of the cases are over 65 years old.
City surveillance
According to figures, the situation is decreasing with SOS Doctors and those of the Sentinel Network between April 20 and 26.
To date, the cumulative number of symptomatic cases estimated from sentinel physician data since the start of the epidemic is 389.
During the week of April 20 to 26, suggestive cases were identified in 11 municipalities. The highest incidences concern the municipalities of Basse-Pointe and Diamant.
The same goes for the hospital, the daily number of hospital admissions in medical services has generally decreased since the end of March.
In addition, no case of Covid-19 is reported in the Ehpad of Martinique.
Covid-19 specific mortality monitoring
• 14 deaths, reported by the Martinique University Hospital, have been reported since the beginning of the epidemic.
• 93% of these deaths occurred in people over 60 years of age.
• 7 people were hospitalized in intensive care
