Manitoba confirmed 12 more cases of measles in its weekly update posted online Wednesday, with the total number of confirmed cases now up to 158 from 146 the previous week.

Those numbers are up-to-date as of July 19, the province said. Manitoba also reported an additional probable case of the illness in its most recent update, in addition to eight other probable cases earlier this year — four in April and four in June.

The number of cases spiked in May, with 72 reported that month. So far in July, the province has recorded 39 confirmed cases and one probable case...

Manitoba health officials are reporting a new measles exposure at Tornado’s Restaurant and Lounge in Portage la Prairie on July 20 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Anyone present during that time is asked to monitor for symptoms until Aug. 11 and check their immunization status.

Measles cases have totaled 167 in Manitoba between February and July 2025, with a peak of 72 confirmed cases in May and 39 in July.​..

The total number of probable and confirmed measles cases reported in Manitoba this year is now past the 200 mark.

The province announced four confirmed and five probable cases in its weekly update Wednesday, which covers the period up to Aug. 30.

That brings the tally up to 191 confirmed and 16 probable cases in 2025, or 207 total.

The province is also warning of possible measles exposure during the last week of August at two southern Manitoba sites.

Anyone who went to the Winkler Medical Clinic on Aug. 28, from noon to 3 p.m., should monitor for symptoms until Sept. 19, the province said in a Wednesday bulletin.

Anyone who went to the Boundary Trails Health Centre's emergency department, between Winkler and Morden, from 1:45 p.m. on Aug. 28 to 4:45 p.m. on Aug. 29 should monitor for symptoms.​..

Seven new confirmed measles cases have been reported in Manitoba since last week, a provincial health data update said Wednesday.

There have been 198 confirmed measles cases and 16 probable cases this year, as of Sept. 6 — the most recent numbers available — bringing the total count up to 214 cases.

Canada has reported 4,849 measles cases in 2025 as of Aug. 30, the latest federal data says. The majority of cases are concentrated in Ontario and Alberta.​..

Manitoba crosses 200 mark for measles cases this year

Manitoba has now surpassed 200 confirmed cases of measles in 2025.

According to the province’s database, there are 204 confirmed cases of measles as of Sept. 13, 2025, up six cases from last week. A total of 10 cases have been reported so far in September.

The province also reported16 probable cases of measles in 2025. There were no cases reported in Manitoba last year.

According to federal data, there have been 4,902 cases of measles across Canada in 2025 as of Sept. 6.
New exposure reported at Winnipeg hospital

The province also warned of a new measles exposure, this time at a Winnipeg hospital.

The exposure happened in the cafeteria at St. Boniface Hospital between noon and 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 12.

Those who were in the cafeteria at the time are asked to monitor for symptoms until Oct. 4...

On Tuesday, the province announced a measles exposure at the New Life Fellowship Church in Hochfeld, Man., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 7.

Manitoba had 22 confirmed cases of measles in September, the province's latest update on the illness says, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the province this year to 216.

Those cases include five confirmed cases reported since last week's update, the government's website says. Another probable case was also reported, bringing the total number of probable cases detected in Manitoba this year to 18.

Canada has reported 5,006 confirmed and probable measles cases in 2025 as of Sept. 20, following an outbreak that began in October 2024, the latest federal data says.​..

Manitoba is warning anyone who was at the Portage District General Hospital on two days last week they may have been exposed to measles.

People who were at the emergency room of the hospital in Portage la Prairie, Man., between 9:20 p.m. on Sept. 24 and 2:40 a.m. on Sept. 25 are being asked to monitor their symptoms, the province said in its latest measles update Thursday.

Anyone exposed on Sept. 24 should monitor for symptoms until Oct. 16, while anyone exposed Sept. 25 should monitor until Oct. 17, the update said. The province is also asking anyone who was at the hospital during the specified dates and times to make sure they're up to date with the measles vaccine (MMR or MMRV) by checking their immunization records.​..

Health officials are warning the public might have been exposed to measles at four sites in southern Manitoba, including health-care facilities in Stonewall and Portage la Prairie, as well as at an addictions recovery facility in Winnipeg.

Anyone who was at the Portage Clinic at 140 Ninth St. E. in Portage la Prairie on Oct. 4 from 12:40 to 3:15 p.m. should monitor for symptoms until Oct. 26, the province said in a Tuesday news release.

People who were at the Interlake Medicentres in Stonewall, at 2-330 Third Ave. S., from 2:15 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 1 , should monitor for symptoms until Oct. 23.

The province is also warning people might have been exposed at the Beyond Bread store at 368 Main St. in Stonewall. The province is asking those who were at the store on Oct. 26 from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. to monitor for symptoms until Oct. 18.

An elementary and middle school in Winkler is the latest measles exposure site in southern Manitoba, health officials say.

Manitoba Public Health says anyone who visited Emerado Centennial School between 8:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Oct. 29 should monitor for symptoms until Nov. 20, according to a provincial bulletin issued Tuesday.

Emerado Centennial is a Grade 4-8 school located at 675 Prairie View Dr., according to the Garden Valley School Division's website.​..
