Interlake man hospitalized with measles
Provincial health officials trying to track down whether others have been infected

An Interlake man his 40s has been diagnosed with measles. The Chief Provincial Public Health Officer confirmed the case Friday...

...In a news release, the province said it is investigating the case and trying to find out if anyone else has been infected.

Officials said the man was contagious when he visited the following locations:

the Manitoba Winter Games badminton tournament in Winkler March 7 and 8​
the 204 Volleyball and Ice Time Sports 14-and-under tournament March 8 at Monroe and John Henderson junior high schools in Winnipeg
the University of Manitoba Bison volleyball tournament in Winnipeg March 9
the Victoria Hospital emergency department in Winnipeg March 9 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., and
the Selkirk General Hospital emergency department in Selkirk March 10 at 7 p.m.

Anyone who was at these events or who think they may have measles are being encouraged to phone their health-care provider or Health Links-Info Sant? at 788-8200 or 1-888-315-9257 (toll-free) for more information...

The province announced Tuesday a second laboratory-confirmed case of measles has been reported in Manitoba.

The man, in his twenties, lives in the area of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority...
The province said people who were at the following events should be aware of possible exposure to infection, including at the University of Manitoba, March 20, at the following locations and times:

St. Paul's College, Room 215 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Machray Hall, Room 418 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.;
EITC-E2, Room 105 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.;
Frank Kennedy study hall, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and from 5:15 p.m. to 8 p.m.

People who were also at Concordia Hospital emergency department, March 22 between 10:15 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. may also have been exposed, said the province...
