Malaysia: H1N1 virus: Health threat at this hospital

AM a doctor and I want to urgently bring to the public's attention that the H1N1 virus threat is not over yet and is still thriving in some areas.

There is a serious problem in a private hospital in the Klang Valley right now, with a few patients getting infected after being admitted to the hospital, and even two deaths (including a woman who caught the virus in the hospital after a normal delivery).

Half of the staff and nurses were tested positive for the virus and were given treatment. Some were admitted. The only action taken by the hospital was to ask all staff to wear masks.

What about the patients and visitors entering and staying there? Why are patients and visitors not being tested?

Steps must be taken to prevent the spread of the H1N1 virus.

DR K.L.L.
