2009 Fined for coughing in public?
Posted by jaldin in Untagged
People of the public has been advised to stay at home and to avoid public places in light of the recent A(H1N1) influenza outbreak. This is very important because up to date, at 8am on Wednesday 29 August 2009, there has been some 257 new cases reported, which is increasing very fast. Those who are having symptoms of flu are advised to not go to public places at all and to try and avoid public transportation. Due to this, rumours have been circulating that a fine might be imposed of those who have flu symptoms and coughs or sneezes in public.
According to Tan Sri Dr Mohd Ismail Merican, the Director-general of health, "The Health Ministry has found that many people suffering from Influenza A(H1N1) were not cooperating well enough to contain the spread of the disease. Those with flu symptoms should remain at home and not visit public places, places of work or schools until they have recovered,"
