There have been seven flu related deaths in April, but only one is being attributed by the Malaysian MOH to H1N1, even though all seven patients tested positive for H1N1.
Even though determination of cause of death in countries such as America, Great Britain and Mexico has taken up to several months, Malaysia is dismissing these cases within 24-48 hours.
I will continue to record all of these cases to the database, with the tag not officially counted where required.

Two of the most recent fatalities are given below. In the case of the 47 yo male, multi-organ failure has been an observed result of H1N1 infection in fatalities from India and elsewhere. The 5 month old male may well have had a difficult life, but if the cause of death is given in part as "Severe Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome" it seems odd to rule H1N1 out as a factor in the death.
ii.Seorang 47 year old male admitted to Hospital Kuala Lumpur on 17 April 2010 and died on 20 April 2010. The results of the medical report and discussion of experts from Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Sungai Buloh Hospital, deaths classified as caused by H1N1 is not direct but is caused by complications of various organ dysfunction ("Septic shock with multiorgan failure").
iii.Seorang children 5-month-old male who suffered from the problem "hydrocephalus" which included the University Medical Center on March 15, 2010 for surgical treatment and died on 21 April 2010. The results of the medical report and discussion of medical experts, the death classified as caused by H1N1 is not direct but is caused by infection complications after surgery for the problem of "hydrocephalus" and "Severe Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome"
