PETALING JAYA: A total of 23 cases of Chikungunya were recorded in Tanjung Sepat, Kuala Langat, Selangor, from Jan 29 to Thursday (Jan 7).

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement today said the Selangor Health Department has taken an immediate control and preventive measures.

?The symptoms are fever, joint pain and rash. All cases are treated as outpatient and no deaths were reported.

?The Health Ministry has been conducting preventative measures up to Thursday (Jan 7), 1,740 homes were fogged, especially places that have cases.

?The area has a high rate of breeding aedes, which is 3.8%. Therefore, an integrated clean up (gotong-royong) has been held on Thursday, as well as distributing 939 leaflets to locals,? he said.

In addition, Dr Noor Hisham said 39 Chikungunya cases have been reported throughout the country from January to Thursday...

ALOR SETAR: Nine more cases of chikungunya were recorded here, bringing the total to 23 cases suspected to be infected with the disease as of 5pm yesterday.

Kedah Health director Datuk Dr. Norhizan Ismail said 15 individuals were tested positive of chikungunya based on blood test results after they displayed symptoms such as fever, joint pains, and rashes.

According to him, vector control activities had been conducted, where 342 premises were checked and 16 were found to be positive for mosquito breeding, while a total of 1,355 containers had been inspected...

12 more chikungunya cases detected in Kedah

ALOR STAR: Twelve more suspected cases of chikungunya have been detected in the Kota Setar district, raising to 35 the number of such cases in Kedah since last Sunday.

Kedah director of Health Datuk Dr Norhizan Ismail said nine of the fresh cases were detected at the row of shophouses near City Plaza here and the other three in Simpang Kuala.

?With the new cases, 28 have been recorded in the City Plaza area and seven in Simpang Kuala. All of them are in stable condition...

Three Chikungunya cases reported in Kampung Baru Simpang Pulai

IPOH: Three cases of Chikungunya have been reported in Kampung Baru Simpang Pulai, Kinta here from July 18 up to last Tuesday.

Perak Health director Datuk Dr Ding Lay Ming said the cases involved a 15-year-old teenager and two men, aged 47 and 67 years.

?Two patients were warded at a private hospital in Ipoh while the third was warded at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here...
