There have been a number of mysterious deaths of people on Malawi?s Chizumulu island and residents there suspect foul play.
Chiefs and subjects on the island suspect this is the work of ?magicians, witches or Wizard?.
They have now engaged the services of a traditional medicine man to solve the puzzle.
However, the decision has also split the community into two with one group siding the decision and another fearing innocent people would be victimized.
?Such decisions mostly demean the elderly. They are victimized,? said one villager.
And true to the fears, some people have been dubbed responsible for the mysterious deaths and tension is rising among the people there.
Police on the island have since arrested 12 people after they bound an Anglican priest to a tree as he tried to protect his flock from being subjected to the exercise.
