[h=1]103 H1N1 deaths in Maharashtra in July alone[/h]
MUMBAI: The H1N1 infection claimed over a hundred lives in the month of July as the virus peaked along with the rains. Out of the 366 casualties that have been recorded in the state since January, 103 deaths were recorded in July alone.


State authorities have admitted that maximum cases and fatalities were recorded last month. "We saw many deaths in the beginning of the month. But as the intensity of monsoon reduced, we also saw a decline in deaths," said state's epidemiologist Dr Pradeep Awate. July saw a spurt after a slight dip in deaths in June when 37 deaths were recorded.

Seven victims of swine flu have taken a month

Nashik: There has been an increase in the number of swine flu in the city, and seven people have died in the last one month. This includes three people from Nashik city. In the meantime, 35 people have died due to swine flu in seven months. Due to the changing environment, increasing the risk of swine flu, the NMC's medical department is screening suspected patients in the hospital.
Since the last five months, swine flu patients are increasing in the city. It is also the number of patients treated outside. From 1 January to 4 August 2017 223 patients have swine flu infection. It includes 113 cases of NMC, 110 patients from outside. 35 people have died in seven months. Out of them, 13 are included in NMC, while 22 are beyond the limits. In July, 14 patients were in the NMC, while 20 patients were outside. Six people have died. During the 1st to 4th August, 5 out of 6 people from NMC area, and 5 out of 5 patients died while one patient from Madhya Pradesh's Sadhwa died. 94 patients admitted to private hospitals had swine flu infection. Meanwhile, 4387 suspected patients have been screened in hospitals in municipal hospitals, out of which 51 patients have been given Tamflu pills. Municipal corporation has appealed to private hospitals to be alert about the number of patients affected by swine flu in the last few months. Specialty and staff of Swine Flu are being treated at the Municipal and District Hospital and patients are being treated.

Multifold rise in swine flu deaths, worries doctors

With the rising cases of Swine flu in the state, a team of four from National Centre for Communicable Disease Control (NCCDC) had visited the state. The experts have observed a new strain in H1N1 named Michigan


With every passing month, the state is appearing to be in a tighter grip of the H1N1 virus. Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is also down with H1N1 infection. Till 6th August, total 3,750 cases and 381 deaths have been reported in Maharashtra.

[h=1]Pune: 2 more die of swine flu, toll 82[/h] Two more deaths due to the H1N1 virus (swine flu) were registered by the health authorities in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad on Tuesday. A 45-year-old man from Marunji, Pune, who was admitted to Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital died on August 7. Meanwhile, a 55-year-old man from Ambegaon in Pune, who was recently diagnosed with diabetes, also succumbed to the H1N1 infection on August 7.
As per the data provided by the Pune Municipal Corporation health authorities, a total of 82 patients have died due to swine flu in the city since January this year. Of these, 24 were residents of Pune. At present, 22 people are on artificial ventilation. As many as 405 people have tested positive for H1N1 virus since January, it added.
In Pimpri-Chinchwad, a total of 231 people have tested positive for H1N1 virus, while 28 death were registered.

Pune H1N1 death toll rises to 83

Pune: The H1N1 death toll in Pune rose to 83 on Wednesday after a 55-year-old man from Shirur taluk succumbed to the swine flu virus while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Pimpri. This is the third death in three days. On Monday, a 45-year-old man from Marunji died while being treated at Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital.
A 55-year-old man from Ambegaon, who was recently diagnosed with diabetes, also died the same day. Pune has recorded 19 deaths from the virus in less than a month.
Since January this year, over 250 persons in the State have succumbed to the virus, with Pune recording more than a third of the fatalities.
More than 75% of the casualties reported in Pune are of people who came from adjoining areas to the city and Pimpri-Chinchwad for specialised medical care. Health officials said many patients died because they failed to seek early treatment.
Medical sources said 20 patients undergoing treatment across city hospitals are critical and have been put on artificial ventilation. Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad have recorded more than 630 swine flu positive cases since January, which is 50% of the 1,200-odd positive cases recorded across the State.

MUMBAI: Maharashtra accounts for nearly 50% of all H1N1 influenza casualties and one-fourth of the confirmed cases detected in the country since January. Baffled by the staggering number of deaths, the state's public health department has started taking a closer look at every casualty before labelling it as H1N1.

The state has so far recorded 414 deaths and 4,014 cases. Death committees comprising five members at every municipal area have begun investigating whether H1N1 was the predominant reason for a patient's death. The need for such scrutiny arose after a cursory analysis showed that at least 60% of the 414 victims were suffering from some chronic condition. It appeared that several H1N1 victims were battling cancer, HIV, tuberculosis or dengue and the viral disease turned into the proverbial last straw.

Swine flu outbreak in Maharashtra has reached alarming proportions. According to data from state health department, 440 deaths have been reported so far this year. Nashik tops the list with 53 deaths followed by Pune and Nagpur. A total of 4,150 cases of H1N1 have been reported.

Thane: Swine Flu has killed another one in August in Thane Municipal Corporation. So far 25 people in Thampa border and 40 cases of swine flu in the district have been reported from the health department's statistics.
This increasing number of swine flu has seen a repeat of 2015. In the same way, due to the decline in swine influenza, there is fear that it will remain intensely in the Ganesh Festival on the face.
In the year 2015, about 822 people were infected in the district. So, 48 people had died. So, a single swine flu was detected in 2016. However, due to the changing environment in the last few days in 2017, swine influences have been growing rapidly. In this, there is a strong indication of the Thampa border. So far 879 people have been infected with swine and 40 people have died in the district and outside the district. The highest number of swine flu deaths has been reported in July this year. In Kalyan-Dombivli, 62, Navi Mumbai, 9 and in Meera-Bharindar, 3 districts, 181 people are admitted to the hospital.

With influenza like diseases seen growing in the city, deaths due to swine flu too have seen a considerable rise. The total deaths reported due to H1N1 from January 1 to August 20, so far, have already reached 95 in the city.

According to the data furnished by Pune Municipal Corporation's (PMC) health department, out of the 95 deaths due to H1N1 reported so far, a total of 67 deaths have been of residents from outside Pune while 28 deaths have been from within PMC limits.

The health department further informed that, the H1N1 death toll, which was 82 till August 8, increased to 95 by August 20. Hence, within the past 12 days, a total of 13 people succumbed to swine flu in the city.

From January 1 to August 20, this year, a total of 5,33,221 people have been screened for H1N1 and 12,703 have been given Tamiflu. In the same period, 476 people have been found positive with H1N1 and 29 are still on ventilator.

Another 'Swine' death in Ambernath

A week after Swan Swaminathan city president Revan Shinde died of swine flu in city , Ambernath Ambarnath, an accident that occurred in the western part of Ambernath, died due to swine flu. A question mark is being raised about health services due to death of two swine flu patients in the city.

Last week, Swabhiman Sanghatana's city president, Revenue Shinde, died of swine flu. On 31 July, Advocate Vishal Rama Chaney (45), who lives in Navare Park Galaxy apartment in Ambernath West, was suffering from breathing difficulties. He was admitted in Mulund's Fortis Hospital on August 4 due to the presence of swine flu infection. On August 5, he was kept on ventilator due to his deficiency. But their health was not improving. Eventually, on August 20, during his treatment he died. Channa's family has a wife, a six-year-old son and a ten year old girl.

Santosh Surajlal Mohabe (49) Tumsar, Bhandara is the name of the person who died. Due to his death, the number of people swine flu has gone up to 40.

A patient has died of swine flu. Anandasinh Madhavsingh Rathod (age 60) is the name of the deceased in the hospital, Yesh Peth, Hathkangale.

Anand Singh was admitted to the hospital four days before the suspected swine flu infection. However, he died on Wednesday due to illness.

H1N1 infection of swine flu is increasing rapidly due to low-lying cold. Since cold weather is beneficial for the spread of this virus, the number of patients with swine flu symptoms is increasing.

Talegaon Dighay (District Nagar): The swine flu condition of the woman, Venubai Jalandhar Kotkar (50) of Pimparay in Sangamner taluka, died untimely during treatment at a private hospital in Nashik on Tuesday. The number of swine flu deaths in Sangamner taluka has gone up to six due to the death of the woman.

Venu Bai Kotkar, a resident of Pimparane (district Sangamner), found that signs of illness like swine flu were found. On August 5, they were admitted for treatment at Prawra Rural Hospital in Loni. Thereafter she was admitted to a private hospital in Nashik. However, during the treatment, the woman died unfortunate.

Earlier, in the Sangamner taluka from March 2017 to July 2017, Priyanka Ashok Kandekar (16), Palsakheed, Vimal Bandu Dighe (50), Asha Rajendra Thorat (age 40, resident of Jakhuri), Shobhana Rajendra Kasar (45), resident of Ghulewadi, Rajendra Somnath Gadhe (age 45-year-old Savargaghat) has died. The swine flu has taken the sixth victim of Venubai Kotkar. Therefore, there is a challenge to prevent swine flu against the health department.

Three victims of swine flu in the city

While preparing for the arrival of Ganaraya on one hand, the tension in the city and the surroundings has created tension. Three swine flu cases have been found in the city in the last 48 hours. Another 13 people have been diagnosed with this disease. Therefore, the time for 'Swine Flu to disturb the disturbance and make Baba' time has come to Nagpur.

Three people named Rakhi Tamboli (36, resident of Mahadev Temple), Bharat Jail (35, resident of Talkhpur, district Achchpur) and Jaya Rakshi (age 40, resident of Wardha) have been named after the swine flu. The three patients are being treated at different hospitals in the city. Since the cold, fever and lack of cough, the relatives first introduced him to the local hospital. However, he was again admitted to a private hospital after his condition deteriorated. When swine flu symptoms were detected, samples of their thoracic fluid were sent for inspection. He has been receiving positive reports from the ICU. During treatment, Rakhi was taken to Crimps Hospital at Ramdaspeth, Bharat was taken to Gangakre Hospital and Jaya died during treatment at the Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital.

Apart from these three deaths, 13 people have been infected with swine flu in the city and the area in the last eight days. According to the records of the public health department, 181 people have been infected with swine flu in Nagpur region since January. So far, the number of swine flu deaths has gone up to 43.
