Over all 113 people are being treated for the disease in the state with the maximum number of people from Nagpur region.
As per reports, there have been 23 positive cases of swine flu in Mumbai out of which four people have lost their lives.
Additional Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai, Sanjay Deshmukh, said 26 patients were admitted in various hospitals.

Nagpur: For the third consecutive day, a swine flu patient died in the city on Friday taking the death toll for the Nagpur district to 15. The deceased, a 50-year-old woman from Madhya Pradesh, was undergoing treatment at city's Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

Seven samples of patients suspected to be suffering from the disease were sent for testing on Friday. Three of them were found positive. Twenty-one patients are currently admitted in the swine flu ward of GMCH.

58-yr-old dies of swine flu in Mumbai; toll in Maharashtra rises to 33

A 58-year-old man from Varanasi is the fifth person to die of swine flu in the city. At 12:30pm on Friday, Hemant Singh passed away at Kasturba Hospital, Chinchpokli where he had been admitted, after two doctors failed to diagnose the H1N1 infection.

While the four other patients who died were brought to Mumbai hospitals from outside the city, doctors said Singh could have picked up the infection in the city. This is because he came to the city to visit his relatives on January 22 and took ill on January 29 and the incubation period of the infection is one to four days.

A 61-year-old woman from Bandra is on ventilator support and undergoing treatment for H1N1 infection, said civic officials.
Another 65-year-old man from Mulund is also on ventilator support at a private hospital, battling the infection which has killed 34 people in the state this year. Currently, a 49-year-old man from Gujarat, a 73-year-old man from Bangalore, a 31-year-old man from Palghar and 61-year-old man from Varanasi are being treated for swine flu at city hospitals.
According to the health department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) health department, no Mumbai resident has died of the infection this year. The five people who died of swine flu were from other places and were being treated at city hospitals.
Maharashtra has recorded 168 cases this year, a majority of which are from Nagpur.

Pune: A 26-year-old man from Dhankawdi succumbed to swine flu at a private hospital here on Saturday, taking the city's death toll from the infection to 10 so far this year.

The victim, Vijay Dashrath Bodake, developed influenza-like symptoms on January 26. He had fever with cough and breathlessness. Initially, he sought medical treatment from a neighbourhood doctor.

However, his condition did not improve and he was referred to Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital on January 31. After his condition worsened further, he was put on ventilator support on February 1. His throat swab sent to the National Institute of Virology tested positive for swine flu on February 2.
