WASHINGTON, Oct 8 (Reuters)- A moderate 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck 26 miles (422 km) north-northwest of San Jose, Costa Rica, on Friday and was felt as a strong tremor in the capital of the Central American nation, the U.S. Geological Survey and witnesses said.
